M1 Bank recently opened its newest retail branch location in Des Peres, celebrating with a #PoweredByPurpose campaign giving $20,000 to two area charities: African Vision of Hope and Hope Community Project.
During the #PoweredByPurpose campaign, the public nominated a variety of organizations, and the top five then went to a final round of online voting. African Vision of Hope is an Illinois-based Christian organization committed to bringing immediate and lasting solutions to children and families living in extreme poverty in Zambia. Based in Kirkwood, Mo., Hope Community Project works to strengthen families and communities in Haiti with the goal of helping the most vulnerable families stay together.
“M1 Bank was founded on a promise of Banking on a Mission and The Power of Purpose, which means we’re committed to giving back to the community we’re dedicated to serving,” said Stephanie Bahn-Poteet, vice president of marketing & community outreach. “There are so many organizations doing incredible work every day in the St. Louis area, and all of us at M1 are looking forward to adding these two deserving organizations to the growing list of charities we support.”
